State-Specific Asbestos & Mesothelioma Resources

The MesoWatch network maintains independent asbestos and mesothelioma research resources across multiple states. Each site covers jobsite-specific exposure histories, state statute of limitations, and VA and civil claim pathways for veterans and workers diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestosis, or asbestos-related lung cancer.

Navy veterans diagnosed with mesothelioma or asbestos-related disease may file VA disability claims regardless of their current state of residence. VA presumptive service connection under 38 CFR § 3.309(d) applies to all states with no filing deadline. See Navy VA Claims Guide ›

About State Statutes of Limitations

Civil mesothelioma claims are subject to state statutes of limitations that begin running from the date of diagnosis — not the date of exposure. These deadlines are strict. Veterans who are also pursuing VA claims should be aware that VA compensation claims have no statute of limitations, but civil lawsuits do.
