USS Torsk (SS-423) was a Tench-class submarine commissioned in December 1944 that conducted two war patrols off Japan in 1945, sinking one cargo vessel and two coastal defense frigates, the latter of which was the last enemy ship sunk by the United States Navy in World War II. Following the war, she served primarily as a training vessel for the Atlantic Fleet throughout the 1950s and 1960s, with deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean. Decommissioned in 1968, she briefly served as a Naval Reserve training ship before being transferred to Maryland in 1971 and eventually becoming a museum ship in Baltimore.
