USS Pecos (AOR-5), a Wichita class replenishment oiler, was commissioned at General Dynamics Quincy in November 1980 and served in the Pacific Fleet. Pecos provided underway replenishment of fuel oil, aviation fuel, dry cargo, and munitions to carrier battle groups and surface groups throughout the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Pecos served through the Cold War era and participated in Pacific Fleet operations.
