USS Comstock (LSD-45), a Whidbey Island class dock landing ship, was commissioned at Avondale Shipyard in February 1990 and served in the Pacific Fleet. Comstock transported and landed US Marine Corps air cushion landing craft through her LCAC-capable well deck, supporting Marine Expeditionary Unit operations across the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean.
